This past August GWLT had the pleasure to open this year's edition of Germany's most prestigious hip hop summer event, Splash! Festival 19 at Ferropolis near Dessau. Filmer Stephan and I joined them for the trip. It was a fun trip into a musical world I usually don't get to see as my taste of music definitely lies more on the extremer side of loud guitar music.Read More
On my previous road trips with GWLT I somehow behaved well enough to get asked if I wanted to them join them with my camera for their first tour. Ten days of documenting tour life in its entire glory, capturing everything that happens on the road. That means driving with eight dudes in a van, smelly stage clothes hanging from the seat backrests to dry, enjoying the beauty of highways and rest stops, listening to loud music every night… I definitely couldn’t refuse that offer.Read More

On the road again with GWLT! Six weeks before the release of their debut LP “Stein & Eisen” the five gentlemen packed their van to play Berlin and Cologne, taking filmer Stephan and me with them to document the trip. They purpose of the shows was to play all the new songs off their soon-to-be-released album.Read More
After having visited Munich-based band GWLT for a rehearsal I went on the road with them for a weekend of shows in August. The weekend turned out to be quite eventful including an unexpected ending. Not only the summer heat hit us hard…Read More
Munich-based band GWLT are not your run-of-the-mill band. Their sound is a mix of hardcore, metal, hip hop and rock. It’s hard to put their sonical and lyrical diversity into words that would do them justice. The band is more than just music and simple entertainment, their official biography says it best by stating that the band is a vehicle “for a message of love and anger, to be more than just entertainment. Disregarding all borders of the different musical scenes.”
GWLT are awesome because they are different, they do walk the walk instead of just talking the talk by being socially active. I visited them during a rehearsal night in preparation for further joint activities.
